It is my responsibility as a Chef/Gourmet guide/Foodie and professional host to educate people as to were we stand as a buyer/producer/consumer and our responsibilities toward our fragile planet and the onward struggle for sustainability and the eve increasing threat of ‘Over indulgence’ toward extinction.

SASSI is a collaborative initiative between WWF South Africa, The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and fisheries, Ezemvelo kwaZulu-Natal Wildlife, Two Oceans Aquarium, TRAFFIC (The Wildlife Trade Monitoring network), Sea World at uShaka, the Endangered Wildlife Trust, South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity (SAIAB), Sharklife Conservation Group, The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), Johannesburg Zoo and SANCCOB (Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds. It aims to improve the conservation status of overexploited fish and other seafood species through education and awareness.

TREASURES OF THE SEA
In collaboration with Nicky Williams The Boat House has purchased the beautiful artwork ‘Treasures of the sea’ as a strong conservation statement that is Educational and Interactive and a great learning tool for the younger generation that is to take on the responsibility of looking after our oceans in the future to come.
Poster R175.00 a 20% contribution goes to SASSI.
